Some home comforts

-

Lanarkshire lads Remind Me Of Home are ready to take the next step with the launch of their latest single.

Released last Friday, Catch It If You Can was recorded in Glasgow’s 7 West Studios by producer Chris Marshall.

The five-piece consists of Craig Meighan (vocals), Greg McCullen (bass), Kyle Simpson (lead guitar), John Whiteford (rhythm guitar) and Sean Chalmers (drummer).

Most of the band grew up in Airdrie, with singer Craig coming from the east end of Glasgow.

Greg said:“John, Sean and me all grew up together and I met them at high school.

“We all loved music and went to gigs together, that’s where it started.

“We met Craig on the Glasgow gig circuit and he ended up joining us after we played a gig with his old band.”

The band’s latest single was written by singer Craig and is a look into his views on relationships.

He said:“It is about not putting all your problems onto your partner and expecting them to fix everything.

Just because you have a girlfriend doesn’t mean all your problems go away. It’s about finding happiness.”

The band have altered their sound over the years, originally being more of a pop-punk band.

However, they have changed it up as the years have gone on.

Craig said:“Right now I’d say we are an alternative rock outfit with influences ranging from Modern Baseball and Moose Blood.

“I loved bands like Rise Against so much growing up and I think I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from their lyrics.

In terms of vocals, I’m trying to find my own voice. I don’t like going too Scottish when I’m singing; I’m just not into that sort of thing.”

Remind Me Of Home hope to continue pushing forward with their career and view playing more gigs as the next big step for them.

Drummer Sean added:“We all want to continue writing songs we are proud of and play better and bigger gigs.

“We have a gig soon in Glasgow with Better Days and Wrthless, who we are huge fans of. “That’s on August 21 in Broadcast on Sauchiehall Street and we would love to see loads of people there.”
