But our online eaders say less talk and more action is needed.

Jean Aitken said: “It has been discussed at community council every month for years, there have been meetings held with traders. I really don’t see what more talking is going to do to improve the situation! There are far too many vulnerable chaotic, individual­s in Lindsay House, and it’s in the wrong location.”

Lisa Cunningham wrote: “It appears the unit is not able to support those with substance problems.”

Steve Fletcher posted: “Those who are homeless or otherwise in unfortunat­e circumstan­ces absolutely do need looked after and helped out. However, those who choose to behave violently, whether on mind-altering substances or not, need to be dealt with in whatever way necessary to keep the public safe from their disgusting behaviour.”

Jennifer Foster said: “Local MSP should worry about funding homeless services properly, increasing the budget for mental health and addiction abuse and building more social housing.”
