QUIZ REPORT

European football taking it’s toll on the quiz numbers, however still a rivalry that brings three teams out to do battle.

Half time and only one point between all teams with Wright Stuff on 34 points and Bar Lizards and Infamous 4 one behind all to play for.

Final placings saw the pressure of leading the pack get to the Wright Stuff who slipped down the leader board and this week ended 3rd on 55 points, Bar Lizards up next in 2nd slot on 60, but pipping them to the title this week Infamous 4 on 62 points.

PRIMARY SCHOOL FUNDRAISER

Pupils at Auldhouse Primary School held a coffee morning at their school to raise funds for Kilbryde Hospice.

Pupils from the small rural school sent out letters inviting their families to attend and baked cakes and goodies to help raise funds for the local hospice. They also donated unwanted books and toys to hold a stall at the event.

Family and friends of the school attended the event and helped raise £203.94 for Kilbryde Hospice. Everyone enjoyed the chance to chat and catch up over tea and cakes while raising vital funds for the local hospice. The children entertained guests with some singing from the choir and Holly Sheen, Community Fundraiser from Kilbride Hospice, gave a short presentation on the work of the hospice and the necessity for fundraising events such as the coffee morning.

Acting head teacher Heather McVey was pleased to host the event at the school and was delighted that they raised so much.

She said: “It’s been really rewarding working with the children as they’ve prepared for this event and we are very thankful to all the families who have supported the fundraiser by baking or attending the event.”

Kilbryde Hospice opened its Inpatient Unit in August 2018 and depends on donations to be able to deliver their services. It costs £2.5 million a year, which is £7,000 per day to operate.

Auldhouse Primary School is a small rural primary school situated in the village of Auldhouse with a school roll of approximately 50 pupils. They regularly hold events to raise funds for local causes to benefit the surrounding community. STEWARTFIELD
