A GREAT YEAR FOR COURTNEY
Whitemoss Amateur Athletic Club starlet Courtney Fraser has just made the step up to the under-15 level in combined events, following an outstanding season in the under-13 category.
Courtney has competed at various events over the year, including Scottish Schools Indoors and Pentathlon outdoors.
She placed first in the U13s at Club Championships, took Junior Female Athlete of the Year for the second year running and broke various club records.
Following a fantastic season, her big highlights over the past year include:
• Scottish National Indoor Champion for Shot Putt with a throw of 9.46m
• 1st place at West Districts for Discus and 2nd place for Javelin
• 3rd Place for Shot Putt at Scottish
Schools
• Scottish National Outdoor Champion for Shot Putt with a throw of 10.16m
• Scottish National Outdoor Champion for Discus with a throw of 32.90m
• 1st place for Shot Putt and Discus at
Southport Waterloo Open
• 1st place for Shot Putt and 3rd place for 70m Hurdles at Pitreavie Young
Athletes Trophy Meeting
• 1st place for Shot Putt, 2nd place for
Long Jump and 2nd place for 200m at Lanarkshire AAA
• 3rd place for pentathlon at Eastern
Counties Open
• 1st Place overall for Shot Putt and
Discus at the Throws Grand Prix.
Courtney’s coach Tom Graham said: “Courtney is now moving into the under 15 age group with this season being a transitional phase to adjust to the different equipment weights.
“It’s been a good year and as she makes the step up, I expect her to still to compete to a high standard, especially in her main event, discus.”
