Gorgeous for a day in the country

-

Claremont Ramblers enjoyed a stunningly beautiful day for walking at the weekend with sunshine from start to finish.

Mid-November’s walks saw both long and alternative walks in the Strathblane area.

The long walk was the nine-mile Strathblane circular, starting and finishing at Kirkhouse Inn, with packed lunches were enjoyed at Glengoyne Distillery.

The alternative walk was 6.5 miles from Milngavie to Strathblane.

Both walks offered crystal clear views of the surrounding scenery and in particular Glengoyne Hill and snow capped Ben Lomond.

The morning stop was in Dobbies, Milngavie, and the social hour was enjoyed in the very pleasant Kirkhouse Inn.

The walkers gave a resounding thumbs-up to another great day’s walking.

The next walk will be on Sunday, December 1 with the destination being the River Ayr Way circular.

Booking for this runs from Tuesday to Friday prior to the walk, with members given priority on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Non-members will hav e their chance to get involved from the Thursday and Friday. Please book on no later than Friday, 4 pm.
