A Coatbridge rocker went down a storm with the crowd during a very well received German gig.

Pete MacLeod performed tracks from his hit third album Walk To The Light in Berlin, while he was also interviewed for German music TV show Rockpalast in Cologne.

Pete, of Kirkwood, said: “It is always great to take my music to different countries and the German fans seemed to love it.

“The gig in Berlin was top notch and even though some of the crowd may not have been able to speak English, they were all singing along.

“It was really interesting being interviewed for a German music channel as it gave me the chance to tell a new audience all about me and my music.

“Travelling abroad is always a highlight and this gave me the perfect chance to warm up for my big headline gig in Glasgow Garage on December 7.”

Pete’s latest single, Goodbye Woman, has been warmly received by fans and critics.

Co-written by renowned producer Youth, who has previously collaborated with the likes of Embrace and The Verve, Pete waxed lyrical about the tune, saying: “Youth and I worked on the lyrics in a studio in Andalucia, Spain; I recall us listening to some Dub in the morning before working on it.

“It is the only song on my latest album on which I play a lead guitar solo and I actually used Jason Pierce from Spiritualized’s guitar as he was recording with Youth around the same time.

“The song reminds me of John Lennon in parts and I am very happy with it.”

Describing the lyrical content of his Walk To The Light album, Pete added: “I went a little deeper and darker with some of the songs, although the emphasis is more a spiritual one in regard to the overall feel.

“My belief is that, no matter what you are going through, it’s important not to doubt yourself and others but instead walk to the light, get through the tunnel, take it all in and don’t be frightened of what may lie ahead for you.

“We will all leave here one day, and also lose others while we are here, but my attitude is that I welcome the experiences I’ve had.”

Pete will be joined by “special guests” at his headline gig in Glasgow Garage next month.

He said: “The Garage gig is my biggest headline show to date and I cannot wait to take to the stage; it will be a great end to 2019.”
