Think of others and take care of yourselves

CH SP. ALAN WADDELL POLICE SCOTLAND

-

It is a great honour to be the Divisional Commander for Lanarkshire, and I am incredibly proud of the work that my officers and staff do on a daily basis, to protect the most vulnerable in our communities and to bring criminals to justice.

In the last year we have responded to more than 186,000 calls from the public, have traced more than 2,000 people who have been reported missing, and policed more than 500 events in our community, in addition to dealing with crimes which have been reported to us, and many other demands. The festive period is always a busy time for the emergency services and my officers will be patrolling to ensure that the residents of our communities can have a safe and happy Christmas.

This will include our festive drink drive campaign, as I continue to be concerned by the number of people who drive when under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.

2020 will bring us many challenges but I am sure that the close, collaborative relationships we have built up with our partners will continue to make Lanarkshire a safer, healthier and happier place to live.

It is important that we listen to the views of our communities across Lanarkshire, and I would appreciate you taking the time to complete our survey giving you the opportunity to influence our Local Policing Plan.

The survey can be found at https://consult.scotland.police.uk/surveys/ your-police/ and is available until December 31.

Have a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy NewYear.

Please think of others and take care of yourselves.
