Pete MacLeod enjoyed “the perfect end to the year” as he performed his “biggest headline gig yet”.

The singer-songwriter, from Coatbridge, soaked up the atmosphere of an raucous crowd at The Garage in Glasgow.

Pete performed tracks from his three hit albums Rolling Stone, Crestfallen and Walk To The Light in a welcome return to a venue he holds dear to his heart.

The musician explained: “In 1994 I went to my first gig at The Garage to see Radiohead when I was 15-yearsold.

“It’s surreal to think that, 25 years later, I headlined at the same venue; I really have been on an incredible journey and 2019 has been one of my biggest and best years yet.

“The crowd at The Garage was fantastic and I like to thank them from the bottom of my heart for making my biggest headline gig yet so memorable.”

The Garage set saw Pete back on Scottish soil following a year that has resulted in him travelling across the world with gigs in Wales, Germany and, most recently, Brazil.

Pete jetted off to Manaus in the South American country for a gig and radio appearance and also got to enjoy some down time and stroll along the sandy beaches as his musical journey took another step forward.

He said: “I had never been to Brazil before and it’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit.

“The gig was a great night and I had to take a few seconds on stage just to soak in the atmosphere and take in the fact I was performing my music in Brazil.

“I played songs from my three released albums and then a tribute to my hosts by performing an Oasis song with Brazilian act Supernova, which was fantastic.

“Oasis were the band that inspired me to be a singer and songwriter so I always enjoy playing their tunes.

“I’d like to same massive love and a huge thanks to everyone in Manaus for the very warm welcome they gave me; they were hugely receptive to my music and I will never forget my trip.

“It was also very cool to get to walk on Brazilian beaches and soak up the sunshine.”
