- GREGOR FARQUHARSON

The organisers of Eaglesham Beer Festival have unveiled an exciting shake-up for this year’s event.

And it will see the award-winning festival put a focus on showcasing some of Scotland’s best music as well as food and drink.

Re-branded as the Eaglesham Beer & Music Festival, the event will run over three days in May, with two specialist gig days in the run up to the usual Saturday party.

And organisers Fraser and Laura Wilson have pulled out all the stops to ensure they have some of Scotland’s best acts on show.

The mini-music festival will kick off with the highly-celebrated, Blue Rose Code.

Fraser told the News: “We were absolutely delighted to scoop the ‘best food and drink event in Scotland’ title last year, but we’ve never wanted to rest on our laurels.

“We always want to continue improving, changing and adapting what it is we do with the festival to ensure we’re offering the best value for our loyal supporters.

“So this year’s event will be everything folk have come to know and love about the beer festival, and more.

“We’re really excited to showcase some fantastic up and coming Scottish artists, celebrate established musicians, and also revel in some real big hitters.

“As huge fans of his ourselves, to get Blue Rose Code to play in the village is a real honour and we’re sure that will be an incredible night.”

Acclaimed by Americana UK as “one of the greatest live acts around right now,” Edinburgh-born singer Ross Wilson will headline the Eglinton Arms Hotel on May 28. He will be supported by Cara Rose, before a ‘hooley’ the next night with Papa Shandy and the Drams turning the hotel into a party venue.

Continuing to do all they can to showcase a variety of the best brewers and street food traders the country has on offer, Fraser and Laura have commissioned two live stages for the Saturday spectacular also.

That will be filled to the brim with some of Scotland’s best live acts including Sara N Junbug, Megan D, Kate McCabe, Beerjacket, Shiverin Sheiks, SHEB, Dogtooth and Tom McGuire & the Brassholes.

And don’t forget the DJ stage which will be headed up by the now legendary Let’s Get Eclectic.

Fraser and Laura say there is a “whole host of other artists” to be announced.

Tickets go on sale at the end of next month and you can keep up to date with all things EBF on Facebook.com/ EagBeerFest, Instagram and Twitter.

...it will have everything people love about the festival, and more...
