Dr Lisa Cameron MP joined cross-party colleagues in supporting a ban on trophy hunting imports.
The Born Free Foundation are opposed to the hunting or killing of any animal for sport or pleasure.
This week they are supporting calls for a total UK ban on the import and export of hunting trophies and the development of alternative, progressive and humane policies aimed at protecting and conserving nature, for the benefit of both wild animals and people.
Backing their calls, Dr Cameron said:
“It is crucial that we stop this barbaric practice of trophy hunting by implementing an imminent ban on trophy hunting imports and exports to the UK.
“This is not sport, it is unnecessary and cruel and appears to be all about the ego of those hunters involved. It has no place in a modern day society and I have urged the Prime Minister to act.”
