‘He would get her to pose for him’

-

The young victim’s heartbroken mother told of the sickening moment she had to identify her daughter being sexually abused on video.

After the shock and horror of finding out about the abuse on her own doorstep, she had to endure the pain and guilt of witnessing the sickening acts take place.

After Craig was arrested for the attempted rape, more damning evidence was uncovered on his phone and computer.

She said:“I gave the police his computer because he was on it quite a lot and they found the videos.

“I then had to go and view videos of him videoing her from behind and touching her in a sexual way.

“He would get her to pose for him and he was feeling her bum, stuff like that. She was clothed but just had wee shorts and a vest top on.”

At work when she got the call from police, she added:“I was told he was being detained for rape.

“I was in complete shock. He used to buy her clothes all the time and take her out. It was all part of the grooming process.”

Describing the ex-Ballerup pupil as“arrogant, lazy, controlling and aggressive,”she said:“He’s that arrogant he protested his innocence.

“She’s had a lot of hassle with the family because they took his side.

“I didn’t go to the trial, it wasn’t going to be very nice to sit in and listen to that. Having to view the videos, that alone was enough for me, you can see how young she is.

“We’re hoping he gets the sentence he deserves.”

Speaking about the family’s two-year hell while they waited for justice, she revealed her daughter struggled to cope.

“She was getting panic attacks in school and was being bullied because people knew about it,” she said.

“She did really well in school but when it came to her exams she couldn’t cope with the pressure. She started college part-time and no one knew her so she could be herself.

“Things got a lot easier when she wasn’t at school, her mood changed a lot. You could see the difference in her.

“Before she would be up all night and last an hour in school then she would phone and I’d have to go and get her. She wouldn’t go anywhere herself for a while but she’s getting out with her friends now and feeling a lot better.”

Issuing a warning to others about Craig’s vile predilections, she added:“I think he is a threat to young girls, I would say he has a thing for girls at the age where they are transitioning from primary to high school.

“I’m happy people now know the truth.”
