Eye Spy a new single

East Kilbride rocker’s Spyres have released their brand new single‘Fake ID’.

The young four piece, consisting of Keria McGuire, Emily Downie, Jude Curran and Alex White are already making a name for themselves across the Scottish music scene following their first single ‘Otherside’.

‘Fake ID’is a track about trying to use someone else’s ID to get in bars and clubs when you were younger.

Emily said:“We’ve all been there. I think a lot of people can really relate to it.

“Getting back in the studio was exciting for us, from seeing the reception ‘Otherside’has got just gives us so much more drive to keep releasing more tunes.

“I’m buzzing to see what 2020 holds for us as we already have so many plans and exciting things lined up including festivals and gigs with some of our favourite bands.”

The song is already impressing, having gathered nearly 10,000 streams in the first few days of release, and was added to a number of popular Spotify playlists.

The track is released on new Glasgow label 7 West Music and was recorded at 7 West Studios and produced by Chris Marshall (Gerry Cinnamon, The Dunts, Rascalton) and Johnny Madden of Baby Strange.

Spyres also played a launch gig at Glasgow’s The Priory last week in support of the single.

One hundreds tickets were available on a first come, first basis but it still sold out.

The talented band already have a tonne of gigs lined up for 2020.

They will support Lauran Hibberd in England, and will also support Nothing But Thieves in London as part of Brits Week.

They will return to Glasgow in March and support East Kilbride’s own Jesus and The Mary Chain at the Barrowland­s.

Spyres will also be playing a host of festivals this summer, including Live At Leeds and Bearded Theory, with more to be announced.
