Gymnasts take home medals
Talented youngsters from East Kilbride Gymnastics Club impressed on the European and domestic stage recently with medal-winning displays.
At the Maia International Acro Cup in Portugal on March 4, Anna Tearney and Maia Watt brought home a silver medal in the 12-18 Women’s Pairs and the 12-18 trio of Anna McCudden, Jenna Robertson and Aimie Robertson finished second in the Elite category final, and fifth overall.
There was great success at Ravenscraig the following weekend at the Scottish NDP Championships, where the club brought in a superb haul of medals, including 10 golds, nine silvers, six bronze medals, plus a team bronze.
Those NDP gymnasts who placed first have now qualified to compete in the NDP British Championships later in the year.

Youth Women’s Pairs – Alannah Young & Ellie Farwell – Gold;
Women’s Groups – Aimee Mailley, Sky Bakke and Georgia Shields – Gold;

Coach Kellyanne Farwell was thrilled with the results. She said: “We are delighted with the performances of all our gymnasts during this weekend.
“For some it was their first competition and they’ve all done us proud”.
Sadly, due to Coronavirus, all competitions for GB and Scottish Gymnastics have now been postponed until further notice.
