Corston Sinclair help with drive to provide PPE

-

An East Kilbride-based protective clothing specialist is helping kit out medical staff with lifesaving PPE.

Corston Sinclair have teamed up with Glasgow Taxis to deliver vital supplies to frontline NHS staff.

That’s as part of the Med Supply Drive Scotland movement, which was organised by doctors, run by volunteers and supported by taxi drivers.

The movement sees a bank of volunteers locate non-medical businesses with PPE and get them to those at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus.

And the initiative clicked into gear last week when supplies of fabric were donated by Corston Sinclair before being transformed into scrubs for NHS use.

Rob Gray from Med Supply Drive Scotland said: “We set this up because we know frontline NHS workers battling the COVID-19 crisis in Scotland need help.

“We are urgently appealing for personal protective equipment in Scotland to be donated directly to local healthcare facilities, to protect frontline NHS staff and their patients.

“Anything donated may ultimately save a life

– we were delighted to work with Glasgow Taxis to ensure the safe delivery of these goods from our friends at Corston Sinclair in East Kilbride.”

An independent family business, Corston Sinclair offers workwear, corporatewear, protective clothing and PPE from the worlds leading manufacturers.

Some 10,000 pieces PPE have been donated to the NHS via Med Supply Drive Scotland, including 25 litres of alcohol gel and 140 face shields.
