East Kilbride Citizens Advice Bureau want locals to know they are still here to help during the coronvirus pandemic.

COVID-19 has had a severe impact on all our lives, but especially on those whose income, benefits and employment have been drastically changed by government restrictions and the many changes to legislation.

And EK CAB want you to know that they remain up and running in these worrying times.

A spokesman for the organisation told the News: Our doors may be physically closed, but we still are here to help you.

“Our staff and volunteers are working from home to ensure our advice is still available.

“We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial qualityassured advice across a range of civil, legal and social welfare matters.

“We help people navigate social security and other systems, and we can connect you to local support and services.”

Those needing help do not need to wait for someone else to refer them to CAB officers.

They take self-referrals in addition to referrals from social workers, teachers, youth and community workers, GPs and health practitioners, housing officers etc.

EK CAB can help with queries or problems on social security benefits, employment, housing, crisis, debt, money, family and relationships, and immigration.

The spokesman added: “No problem is too small or too complex.

“There are several ways you can continue to get advice during this time.”

You can get in touch by calling 01355 263698, emailing administration@ eastkilbridecab.casonline. org.uk, or heading to www. ekcab.org.uk .
