Skaters mark top 30 years

The East Kilbride Ice Figure Skating Club have had their three decades of success marked with a motion in parliament.

The Early Day Motion put forward at Westminster celebrated the 30 years of achievements by the skaters.

It read: “The Parliament congratulates East Kilbride Figure Skating Club as they celebrate their 30th anniversary; notes that the club has had skaters qualify for the British Championships every single year of the club’s existence, resulting in 26 British Champions; has also trained competitors in the World Championship, the European Championship and the Winter Olympics, resulting in five international medallists.”
