Mystery Lanarkshir­e Lotto winner scoops £10k a month

A mystery man from Lanarkshir­e is quids in after winning £10,000 a month for a year on the National Lottery.

The lucky man – known only as Mr W – won the life-changing prize by matching the five main numbers in the Set For Life draw on Monday, July 6.

And who knows, the lucky winner could be a resident and a neighbour from the East Kilbride or Strathaven areas.

He celebrated his fantastic win by splashing the cash on a swimming pool for his holiday home.

Playing online via the website or app means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notificati­on if you win a prize, just like Mr W did.

You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery App to check if you’re a winner. The mystery winner chose a birthday selection of numbers to play

Set For Life which came up trumps.

He has become one of eight million players that win each week on The National Lottery’s range of games.

On the National Lottery website players can buy tickets to play all of The National Lottery’s draw-based games including Set For Life, Lotto, EuroMillio­ns and the Thunderbal­l.

Once they have registered and set up an account, they can also play a range of online Instant Win Games.

Set For Life is a draw-based game which is run by The National Lottery.

You pick five main numbers from 1 to 47, and one ‘Life Ball’ from 1 to 10, for the chance to win fixed prizes – with everything from the top prize of £10,000 a month for 30 years, to the 2nd prize of £10,000 a month for one year to £5 for matching just two main numbers.

Thanks to National Lottery players, up to £600million will be used to support the most vulnerable in communitie­s across the UK during the coronaviru­s crisis.
