SNP- COLLETTE STEVENSON

-

It’s fair to say the past year has been tough on us all for various reasons.

Society has been pushed to its very limits. Where mistakes have been made, we must learn from them.

There is hope as we emerge from the pandemic however, vaccines developed at record speed by global teams of scientists are being deployed at a phenomenal rate by our NHS.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel and that light is getting brighter and brighter every day with every vaccine.

The next phase of this journey is to secure a long-term recovery, which will be the overriding ambition of the SNP if it is re-elected to power.

If returned, an SNP government would deliver a 10-year strategy for an economic transformation within six months of being elected. We will put the creation and protection of good, green jobs right at the heart of our economic policy.

Our national infrastructure mission will increase annual investment by £1.5bn to almost £7bn by 2025-26, delivering over £33bn in the next five years, supporting 45,000 jobs directly. The SNP Government is the only one within the four nations offering 100 per cent non-domestic rates relief for a full year, and to reduce the rates poundage so that businesses can protect jobs and recover.

We will continue the National Transition Training fund – providing support to anyone facing redundancy or in unemployment to retrain in of growth areas of the economy.

There is hope on the horizon. The next session of the Scottish Parliament will be crucial to

Scotland’s recovery.

Our ambitions should be bigger than just mitigating the Tories’economic incompetence and brutal welfare policies.

With both votes SNP, we have the chance to put Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands. We’ve got the people and the resources – the only thing we don’t have is the full powers independence would bring to deliver upon our ambitions.
