Vulnerable kids enjoy donated choc treats
Fosters Funeral Directors in East Kilbride teamed up with Women’s Aid South Lanarkshire and East Renfrewshire (WASLER) to deliver over 80 Easter eggs to vulnerable youngsters.
They worked with the EKbased charity’s children’s and young people’s service, helping to spread some eggs-citing Easter cheer.
The team at Fosters donated the chocolate treats in an effort to support the charity and the children who benefit from the essential care they offer.
WASLER provide a confidential service that offers vital information, support and temporary accommodation to women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse, an issue which has been on the rise due to the recent lockdown restrictions.
As well as supporting women and children to recover, WASLER campaign to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the impact it has on the lives of those who are or have suffered at the hands of a perpetrator.
Loraine Harris from the charity told the News: “Thank you so very much for this kind and generous donation of chocolate eggs.
“Every single one will bring happiness to the children we work with, letting them know they are cared for and included.
“Many of our families suffer financial hardship and buying their children chocolate eggs is not on their list of priorities. Mums and care-givers will be so happy to be able to gift these donated eggs to their children. Thank you very much”.
Chris Scougal, funeral arranger at Fosters East Kilbride, said: “Women’s Aid provide an invaluable service and do a brilliant job helping vulnerable women and children in our community.
“We hope that our donation of chocolate eggs and sweet treats helps to make this Easter holiday a little more enjoyable for all of those supported by Women’s Aid.”
