Goals galore on an entertaining evening

-

A STUNNING evening of goals saw no fewer than 20 shared between four East Lothian clubs on Friday evening.

The games involving the under-20s sides of Dunbar United, Haddington Athletic, Musselburgh Athletic and Tranent proved highscoring affairs.

There were nine goals in the contest involving Haddington and Dunbar, with the Seasiders coming out on top 6-3.

It was a stunning first half from the victorious Dunbar youngsters as they threatened to run away with things.

Keir Bruce opened the scoring before Riley Haston pulled Haddington level.

Goals from Calum Richards, Harry Clark, an own goal and Gregor Goldie had Dunbar 5-1 up at the interval.

Haddington pulled two goals back from the penalty spot through Haston to narrow the gap.

However, any chance of a comeback was ended three minutes from time when Leo Harrison scored for Dunbar.

Elsewhere in the East of Scotland Development League’s East Region, Musselburgh enjoyed an entertaining win over Edinburgh Community.

Steven Burns opened the scoring before Sam Kilboy doubled Burgh’s advantage, but two goals in three minutes had the Capital club back on level terms.

Ciaran Nisbet scored from the spot for Burgh to restore the lead going into the break.

Burns made it 4-2 to give Musselburgh breathing space but again Edinburgh got on the scoresheet.

Kilboy grabbed his second of the evening with 18 minutes left but Edinburgh Community scored with two minutes left to ensure a nervy end to the game.

In the Scottish Lowlands Development Football League, Tranent hit Caledonian Braves for six. A hat-trick from Charlie Robinson, alongside strikes from Jonathan Mainds, Joseph Mcginness and Sam Buchanan, ensured a 6-2 win for the Belters, who move into 11th spot.
