Squires Garden Centres are encouraging people to lower their plant miles when it comes to choosing what to grow this summer. Says chairman Sarah Squire: “We have always tried to support local growers and at least 80% of our plants are grown in the UK. Many of our suppliers are located within a 20-mile radius of us, which limits transportation and lowers our plant miles.” While centres closed down during lockdown, Squire’s has continued to take online orders, with free delivery within seven miles of their centres.
