URBAN PARADISE
Created in collaboration with the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, The Botanical City reveals the secrets and surprises of our often overlooked urban plants – from dandelions, which can be used to make car tyres, to valerian, once used to treat shellshock. Divided into five sections: Eat; Make; Grow; Kill and Heal, it’s beautifully written, with botanical illustrations faithfully reproduced from Kew’s 18thcentury tome Flora Londinensis (Hoxton Mini Press; £25).
