THE ONE BEAUTY MISTAKE TO AVOID?

The wrong shade of foundation. Test out the colour in a natural light: use your fingers to draw a line of foundation onto your cheek, neck and ears, and if it’s the right colour, it should blend seamlessly into the skin.

WHAT’S YOUR SIGNATURE SCENT?

My own perfume, Scent of a Dream, of course. It has top notes (lemon, peach and black pepper) to lift the senses, erotic floral notes (tuberose, jasmine, frankincense, violet and patchouli) to attract love and light, and seductive base notes (Fire Tree, Iso E Super, Hedione and Ambroxan) to amplify your own scent.

MOST MEMORABLE MAKE-UP MOMENT?

Creating Kate’s [Moss] incredible make-up look for her Castaway shoot [for Vogue] in June 2002. It kick-started a trend for bronzed, beautiful skin. Summer make-up should dial up your features and accentuate luminous skin.

CAREER-DEFINING MOMENT?

Launching my own beauty brand nearly four years ago. I came up with the brand idea at 13 and it developed as I worked as a make-up artist for 25 years.

I’m passionate about empowering women to look and feel their most beautiful.

WHO INSPIRES YOU?

I have a mix of creatives, rule breakers and visionaries that I look to for inspiration:

Coco Chanel, Helena Rubenstein, Walt Disney, Steve Jobs, Winston Churchill, Estée Lauder… the list goes on.

WHAT’S YOUR BEST MAKE-UP TIP?

By tracing the natural outline of your lips, you can completely re-shape and re-size the cupid’s bow, as well as any unevenness in an instant. My Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk, £16, mimics the natural shade of lips, so you can cheat a perfect pout in seconds.

BEST SKINCARE TIP?

When it comes to skincare, my top tip would always be to cleanse, hydrate and nourish the skin. I always say you can’t have a beautiful painting without a beautiful canvas. It’s all about having a fresh, radiant complexion.
