BLASTED OUT OF THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS, the

Tizi n Test pass is the high point (in both senses) of the scenic 225km route between Taroudant and Marrakech. It can be hair-raising in parts, but that all adds to the adventure. You’ll look down on eagles swooping over plains, pass crumbling kasbahs and mud-brick Berber villages with women swathed in colourful textiles. Watch as the landscape changes from cedar trees to cacti, and feel the awesome mass of the looming mountainside. And make sure to set off early: it’s nerveshredding after dark.
