ELLE’s new literary editor, Marta, says her favourite book is One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez: ‘It reminds me of falling in love with reading, of the hardships of being a teenager and not having a clue who you are.’ Starting her career as a reporter for a newspaper in her home town of Barcelona, Marta moved to London in 2013 to work on the books desk at The Guardian. The advice she would give her 16-year-old self would be ‘other people don’t get to decide your value, so stop trying to please them’. Read Marta’s book picks on page 120.
