‘I’ve never thought about having a super power before, but I think I would like to live underwater, like a fish,’ says fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon. As the former international creative director and head photographer of ELLE France, he has shot the likes of Linda Evangelista, Keira Knightley and Beyoncé, but admits he still has more to learn and that his career has (almost) only just begun. Born in the old volcano region of mid-France, he now lives between New York and on planes travelling the world for shoots. He is yet to define his greatest career achievement, but says it could be his next shoot (watch this space). See Gilles’ work on page 150.
