The hype... SECRETS UNDONE
THIS ADDICTIVE NEW SIX-PART THRILLER SEES NICOLE KIDMAN PLAY A NEW YORK THERAPIST WHOSE LIFE IS UNRAVELLING…
‘YOU SO RARELY END UP WITH MATERIAL LIKE THIS,’ says Nicole Kidman of receiving Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley’s script for The Undoing, as season one launches this autumn. ‘It’s a genuine thriller with extraordinary cliffhangers at the end of each episode. It unfolds from the perspective of an intelligent, complex woman, who is in almost every scene,’ she adds. Successful therapist Grace Fraser (Kidman) is living her best life. Her oncologist husband (Hugh Grant) is a devoted father, and her son attends one of the top private schools in New York City. But overnight her life turns to chaos, with the discovery of a violent death and her husband going missing. A chain of terrible revelations ensues. With compelling twists that rival those in Gillian Flynn’s
Gone Girl, it raises the question: how much do you really know about your other half? Kidman was thrilled to act alongside Grant. ‘I’ve known Hugh for a very long time, so we had a lot to draw from,’ says Kidman. ‘He’s a phenomenal actor and had a real grasp of this very complicated character.’
As for why Kidman is starring on TV again, she says: ‘There is something so exciting about doing a limited series and teasing the journey over multiple chapters. It’s a form of storytelling I’ve come to appreciate.’ She’s not alone: The Undoing is guaranteed to glue us all to our sofas. The Undoing is out this autumn on Sky Atlantic
