COMMENT OF THE MONTH
A FOND FAREWELL
When I was 12 I overheard a boy called Luke Gaul talking about films. He lent me his copy of
Empire (it had Troy on the cover) and this was the beginning of two relationships: the first with you, the second with Luke. Luke taught me that every film, good or bad, held value. We spent years debating all kinds of cinema. Sadly, Luke passed away on 23 August, his loss deeply felt by everyone who knew him. I thought it may be a fitting tribute for him to have his name in the magazine that brought two 12-year-olds together, and gave me an invaluable friendship. ben ostell, via email A lovely sentiment, Ben. We’re sorry for your loss.
