And there was always football on every time I was fucking doing something. everyone else would be off to watch the match and I’d be going [to producer owen morris], ‘We’re getting this take now.’ I’d just bang it out and then boot the doors open of the pub, and that’d be me for the night. but I loved being in the studio. I still do. even though our kid goes, ‘Yeah, he was always in the fucking pub.’ Fuck that, I loved doing the work. obviously when noel would be spending hours on his guitars, I’d be going, ‘Look, are you gonna be here all fucking day doing this? Yeah? right, well I’m going to the pub then.’ I’m not sitting listening to him fucking about thinking he’s Slash, man. but I loved listening to the band, and watching it all grow and all that stuff. It was mega.”
