FORREST PUMPED
In the 100 Greatest Movies podcast special you wondered why so many people voted for
Forrest Gump. I was one of those people. The watching of it is best compared to fondly leafing through several decades of a family photo album whilst simultaneously recollecting and marvelling at how so much has happened in the world during that time. Yes, it is schmaltzy, but such films aren’t often set against the harsh realities of polio, child molestation, mutilation, drink and drug addiction. Please reconsider it.
