Actor Christian Cooke takes the lead in River Island’s new season’s tailoring
High-street stalwart River Island has upped its game for autumn/winter 2017 with a fresh tailoring collection. Produced from higher-quality fabrics than previously used and cut to a more grown-up block (less bum-freezer jackets and spray-on trousers; more slim, flattering suiting and slacks which fit properly), the slick collection is exemplified by this rich, navy velvet suit, as worn by upcoming British actor Christian Cooke. Worn over a plain white crew-neck T-shirt, it’s proof this season’s velvet trend needn’t be reserved for black tie gatherings or, indeed, opening nights.
