SOME of the world’s most iconic sports cars are spearheading this ye ar ’s London Motorexpo, running at Canary Whar f until Sunday.

Billed as the UK’s largest free-to-visit new car show, the event is in its 20th year and, with its reputation growing, it’s expected to pull in more than 410,000 visitors.

The organi sers say it’s an “even bigger and better” display of iconic and revolutionary sports cars than they have mustered before, with the l i kes of L amborghini, Ferrari and Jaguar not only taking centre-stage, but enjoying UK debuts, too.

It’s not all about supercars, however, as the list of 100 different models on show confirms. The new Volvo XC90 — a family favourite in London — will be on display, as will the Smart For Four, the Abarth 695 Biposto and the impressive new seven-seater Land Rover Discovery Sport.

Other show-stoppers include the Aston Martin Lagonda , Audi’s handsome RS6 Avant, the stunning Rolls Royce Wrait h, Ferrari’s 458 Speciale, the sinuous Infiniti Q70, the Porsche 911 GTE, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570 - 4 Superleggera Edizione Tecnica, the Lamborghini Aventador and the Bentley GTC Speed.

Don’t miss, either, the BMW M4 Cabriolet, Jaguar XE, Lexus RC F, Lotus Evora 400, the delic ious Maserati Ghibli, the clean, green (and fast) Tesla Model S, and the Mercedes Benz A45 AMG 4MATIC.

Unlike motor shows of old, visitors also get to test-drive their dream cars on Motorexpo’s “DriveME” test track around the Canar y Wharf Est ate. Experts are also on hand to explain specifications, demonstrate key features and generally talk cars.

“London Motor expo is always a pleasure to organise and we know people really enjoy the event,” says Graeme Carver, Motorexpo’s CEO. “The vehicles make a magnificent spectacle in a relaxed, world-class environment.”

London Motorexpo 2 015 is also generating funds for its official charity par t ner — UK Yout h. The charity provides educational and development opportunities to young people across the nation.

Visitors who want to drive — and who spend £10 at any of the shops, cafés, bars and restaurants at Canary Wharf — get three hours of free parking in the public car parks, if they get their ticket to be validated at point of purchase, before using the pay machines on returning to their cars.

Motorexpo is open daily from 10am-6pm and 1 1 a m- 5 pm on Sunday. Admission is free. More at http://bit. ly/1MB91qn.
