Beckinsale finds love with actor half her age
KATE BECKINSALE is dating a man less than half her a ge , according to reports.
The British actress, 43, was photographed kissing actor and comic Matt Rife, 21, in West Hollywood in the early hours of yesterday.
The pictures were shown on Hollywood TV show Entertainment Tonight, which claimed the couple had been dating for several months and were “officially boyfriend and girlfriend”.
“They quickly started flirting, went on their first date and it’s continued since,” said a source. “Everyone in Kate’s circle loves Matt and are so supportive of this relationship.
“He really is the sweetest guy and makes her so happy. Her entire family thinks he is the nicest and most lovely person. He is very mature for his age and is a great guy.”
The Underworld star
split up with director Len Wiseman in 2015 after 11 years of marriage. She has an 18-yearold daughter, Lily, from a relationship with actor Michael Sheen.
Born in Chiswick, the actress is the daughter of the late Porridge actor Richard Beckinsale.
Rife is best known for appearing on Nick Cannon’s MTV sketch comedy show, Wild ‘N Out. In an Instagram post on Tuesday — that has since been deleted — Rife playfully posed next to a Senior Citizens Centre sign, writing, “Age is just a number,” with a heart emoji.
Life is imitating art for Beckinsale, as she plays an older woman seducing a younger man, played by 27-year-old London actor Callum Turner, in her latest film, The Only Living Boy in New York.
She joins the ranks of female stars who have or have had much younger lovers, including Sam Taylor-Johnson, who married Aaron Taylor-Johnson in 2012 after meeting on the set of Nowhere Boy. At 27, he is 23 years younger than her.
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher were married for seven years and had a 16-year age gap, while Sandra Bullock dated Ryan Gosling in 2002 when their age difference was also 16 years.
Madonna has had relationships with several younger men, including with Brazilian model Jesus Luz who was 28 years her junior.
