- Lizzie Edmonds

NICOLE SCHERZINGER has addressed rumours that she may not return to The X Factor next year, hailing her fellow judges as a “big dysfunctional family”.

The star, 39, who oversees the ITV singing contest with Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell, said: “I will most likely come back next year. They have asked me back. And X Factor is my family and my home. So most likely I will be back next year. We are a great team, us together. I am very close to Mrs O and Louis. And of course Simon. We work all together and have great chemistry. We are one big dysfunctional family. We respect one another.”

The ex-Pussycat Dolls singer was filming the show on Sunday when her boyfriend of about two years, tennis star Grigor Dimitrov, won the ATP championships at the O2 Arena. In his speech, Dimitrov, 26, said: “I want to thank one person here, my girlfriend Nicole. She deserves quite a bit of c redit this week, she’s been

amazing.” Last night, he saw her sing at the Rosewood in Holborn, where she kicked off the hotel’s festive fundraising campaign — Rosewood Mini Wishes — in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Speaking there, she told the Standard: “This is an amazing time for [Dimitrov] as he just won the ATP Finals. I am very blessed that we could actually be at the same place at the same time. He is amazing.” Asked about the public display of affection from the tennis star, she said: “I didn’t expect it. But I am always very grateful.”

Scherzinger, who was due to visit GOSH this afternoon, said: “I am very close to Great Ormond Street. I have supported them throughout the years. It means a lot to me. It is Christmas time. This is the time to remember our blessings. To have thankfulness and gratitude. And to give back. So I am so happy to do it.”
