SHE’S starring in an acclaimed production at the Donmar Warehouse, has several top film roles on the horizon and is a ambassador for Chanel.

But despite her glamorous life, Ellie Bamber says she is happiest at home “getting a bit tipsy with friends” and eating katsu curry.

The actress and model, 20, was nominated for an Evening Standard Theatre Award last year for her role in High Society at the Old Vic and is starring in The Lady From The Sea at the Donmar. Next up is the Disney’s live-action version of The Nutcracker And The Four Realms alongside Dame Helen Mirren and Keira Knightley.

Bamber said that while she likes to party at The Box in Soho and The

Scotch of St James, she loves entertaining at her rented flat in Russell Square. “I also like having friends round my house and getting a bit tipsy at home. I cook a good katsu curry,” she told ES Magazine.

The actress, pictured, was born in Surrey and went to

Eagle House School and Wellington College in Berkshire on drama scholarships. She said: “I did a lot of skateboarding down country lanes.”

Her mother is her manager and deals with both roles well, Bamber said. “The nice thing about Mum is she’s not full on.”

One of her first film roles was in last year’s Pride

And Prejudice And Zombies alongside Lily James, who remains a close friend. She dyed her blonde hair red for the part and has kept the look, saying: “I was immediately like, ‘Why haven’t I always been this colour?’”

In August she took on her biggest theatre role to date at the Donmar and said at the time that the role came as a relief after months of travelling the globe with Chanel. The play is directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah, who was recently appointed as the director of the Young Vic. Bamber said Kwei-Armah, 50, “is wildly intelligent, wildly bright and just has the most incredible nature. I knew that I wanted to work with him”.
