Shops record for window challenge smashed

-

THE Legendary Children’s Window Guessing Competition runs from Sunday to Friday July 15.

Sponsored by West End Garage, the game changed in 2015, and, for the first time in its history, lasted tor two weeks — the first change since 1932.

This year’s competition sees 85 members of The Broughty Ferry Traders’ Association — a record number — smashing last year’s tally of 74.

All the participating shops and businesses are members of The Broughty Ferry Traders’ Association, and will have displayed in their windows an article that they do not sell.

The object of the competition is for young people (under 14) to look at the windows and discover what the “odd” article is. For instance, in the baker’s shop, you might find a teapot, or in the newsagent, a paint brush.

The entry fee is £2. Full details and entry form are on7 the back of the Gala Week programme.
