Goalie scoops up at Jeanfield bash

-

JEANFIELD Swifts recently held their end-ofseason awards night.

Goalkeeper Mark Mitchell was voted Player of the Year.

It was a well-deserved honour for the goalie, who played in all of Jeanfield’s league and cup games.

The Players’ Player of the Year was Lee Deans, who was a stalwart for Swifts in central defence.

The Young Player award went t o Stuart McDermid, a defender who showed up very well.

Top Goal Scorer went to Tony Holt, with 30 goals.

This was all the more remarkable as Tony plays in midfield.

His ability to score with free-kicks definitely boosted his tally.

Now elevated to the Super League, Swifts’ preseason will consist of four friendlies, all in July.

They are away to Blairgowrie (Tuesday 19/7), Edinburgh United (Saturday 23/7) and Tayport (Wednesday 27/7) before completing their preparations with a home game against Largs Thistle (Saturday 30/7).

ARBROATH Vics’ Player of the Year was Steve Florence, while Players’ Player was Josh Chalmers.

FORFAR West End Player of the year and Committee Player of the Year was Craig Stephen. Coaches’ POTY was Ross McDonald while the Top Scorer award went to Graham Hart.
