Get repairs right first time
THERE can be few things more frustrating than roadworks, but this can only be made worse when they are done badly (see page 6).
That Tayside Contracts are spending almost £13,000 every month just to fix roadworks which weren’t done properly is truly astonishing.
When roads are closed or restricted by works, drivers and pedestrians alike may find themselves annoyed to say the least.
But it’s infuriating to think that the delays and diversions could all have been for nothing when it ends up being re-done.
Tayside Contracts say they often make provisions to fund any situation where they suspect that they may have to go back and re-do repairs.
While unexpected issues will always arise, perhaps they should make provisions to complete roadworks properly first time round.
It’s what the tax-paying public expect.
