Lecturer ‘chuffed for students’

-

ABERTAY games students displayed their efforts to thousands of gamers at an expo in Birmingham.

Four students and three staff hired a stand at the EGX games show, which welcomed more than 75,000 visitors across four days, to encourage prospective gamemakers to study in Dundee.

A team of Abertay students from Bluedoor Games, whose game Among The Stones i s nominated for a BAFTA, were on hand to demonstrate their work.

Ryan Locke, a lecturer from Abertay’s school of arts, media and computer games, said he was “chuffed” with the students’ efforts.

He added: “I’m being biased but we were definitely one of the busiest stands. The staff are one half of the story but it’s the students who really put the effort in. I’m so chuffed with them.

“They have done really well. People were saying it was really inspiring to see.

“I have always considered Abertay the gamemaking university, and we couldn’t be prouder.”
