UK safety on agenda

MICHAEL Matheson, Scotland’s cabinet secretary for justice, thinks the UK Government opting in to a new European policing framework is key to ensuring the safety of the country.

He was speaking as he travelled to The Hague today to meet Rob Wainwright, director for Europol to see first-hand the work of the UK Liaison Bureau, including the role played by Police Scotland’s seconded officer.
