Gnome pun intended...

-

GNOMES were spotted on the Declaration of Arbroath this week, but had disappeared when their suspected owner went to find them.

The five garden statues were placed on the monument in the Tayside town by an unknown prankster.

Lamont Forbes MBE believes four were stolen from his Angus garden, but they had gone when he went to collect them.

Their appearance sparked a lot of amusement on social media.

Some offered their best pun, with Gnomeo and Juliet a frontrunner, while others saw a great opportunity as well.

“Funny”, said Hunor Deak. “However, this could be a good idea for a weekend event.

“Have gnomes hidden at landmarks in Arbroath and people need to find them and take photos.”
