‘I was beaten at the age of 15 by a gang of youths... I still struggle’

KENNY Black has never fully recovered from being viciously beaten by a gang of thugs when he was only 15 years old.

He’s now 39, with a wife and three children of his own but he still suffers massively from anxiety and panic attacks.

Kenny was also diagnosed with learning difficulti­es as a child, having missed much of his primary schooling due to illness.

A combinatio­n of these things means he has never been able to work and, as a result, money has always been very tight for Kenny and his wife Lynn, 39.

Kenny was speaking as the Tele visited Dundee Independen­t Advocacy Support, which has helped to change his life for the better, and recently celebrated a funding boost.

“When I was 15, I was jumped by a group of about six lads demanding money as I was getting on a bus in Douglas,” he told the Tele.
