Buoyant Bluebells back to league duty

-

IT’S back to Super League business for Lochee United tomorrow and, after last week’s terrific display against Hurlford, a trip to Camelon should hold no fears.

Despite last week’s heroic win, boss George Shields will take nothing for granted and will be looking for a similar level of performance.

The Mariners have had an up-and-down season so far but have lost only once on their home patch, a 3-2 defeat from Carnoustie.

The Bluebells will again be without Darren Clarkson and Connor Birse while Bryan Deasley is a major doubt after picking up an injury in last week’s Scottish tie.

Carnoustie face a crunch match at Fauldhouse, who sit level on three points with the Gowfers.

A win for Alan McSkimming’s side would move them off the bottom.

John Roberts and Roddy Black remain on the sidelines while Danny Millar is a doubt after picking up a hamstring injury in the warm-up last week.

Broughty Athletic will hope to keep their winning run going with a victory over Penicuik at Whitton Park.

The Lothian side will be difficult opponents, however. They sit a spot behind third-placed Broughty and their goals for column this season in the league would suggest the Fed will have to be on their toes at the back.

But, after winning their last five matches, the Whitton Park side have every reason to be confident going into the clash.

Boss Keith Gibson will make a late decision on a line-up but will again be without Grant Lawson and Jake Mair.
