Tayside man who died in A90 lorry collision named
POLICE have named a pedestrian who was killed in a collision with a lorry near Dundee.
He was Charles Kelly, 55, of Montrose.
Emergency services attended the northbound carriageway of the A90 near Petterden at around 3pm on Wednesday.
Mr Kelly suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
The carriageway was closed to allow officers to work at t he scene and inquiries to take place into the full circumstances of the incident.
Today, Mr Kelly’s partner, Lizzie Wilson, said she was too upset to speak about his death.
Neighbour Ian Wilkie said he was very shocked to hear about Mr Kelly’s death.
He said: “I can’t believe this.
“This is so sad and tragic — all my thoughts are with Liz and their children.
“I have lived beside Charles for about eight years and would regularly speak to him in the passing.”
Montrose councillor Bill Duff said he was saddened to learn that the man came from the town.
He said: “This is obviously a tragedy and my thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who tragically lost his life.”
A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokeswoman said: “Inquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are ongoing and we would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their inquiries to contact us on 101.
“As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
