Kirrie boss wary of big spenders
KIRRIE Thistle boss Jim Finlayson has no doubt their home tie with Whitletts Victoria presents a huge challenge.
Their Ayrshire visitors not be in the top two tiers in the west but are a club very much on the up.
Said Finlayson: “Having invested heavily in their squad, they are undefeated this season, so will provide a major test for us.”
But Thistle are in good form and Finlayson has a full squad available.
Broughty Athletic are forced to travel west to face Central First Division side Johnstone Burgh.
The Fed’s opponents haven’t been enjoying the best of seasons and have won only once in six matches and drawn another.
Despite their poor record, Fed manager Keith Gibson is expecting a tough match.
Gibson will be without Paul McLellan, who is unavailable, while Brian Clark faces a fitness test.
Carnoustie face one of the longest trips after being drawn away to Kello Rovers, who hail from Dumfriesshire and play in the Ayrshire District League.
After their last two results, the Gowfers will travel with a fair degree of confidence and will be disappointed if they fail to get a result.
John Roberts is the only player injured.
