LeFebvre: ‘We need to find some way to score’

-

AFTER their midweek defeat in Edinburgh, Dundee CCS Stars need to pick themselves up for their Gardiner Conference game in Braehead against Clan tomorrow night.

On Sunday, they play host to the same opponents in Dundee Ice Arena, in a Challenge Cup game (6.30pm).

Clan will be difficult opponents for Marc LeFebvre’s men.

Although they convincingly beat Fife Flyers i n both their fixtures l ast weekend, they lost heavily to Cardiff Devils on their own ice on Wednesday.

Stars’ form has been inconsistent as shown when they beat a strong Manchester side last Sunday, only to lose in Murrayfield against Capitals on Wednesday.

Stars coach LeFebvre said: “We had a break yesterday and have now regrouped after the defeat in Edinburgh.

“We had a great cup run and a win on Sunday will mean we top our group.

“It’s no good creating chances if we don’t put them away.

“We need to get in front of the nets, pressure the goalie and find a way to score.

“Braehead will be hurting after their defeat at home to Cardiff, so we had better be ready to play a hard 60 minutes of hockey and, at the risk of repeating myself, find a way to score goals again.”

Fife Flyers look to regain some form when they take on Sheffield Steelers in Yorkshire tomorrow before returning to Fife Ice Arena on Sunday to face Steelers (6.30pm).

Flyers lost heavily in their two games against Braehead Clan last weekend and will need to improve their form if they are to take anything.
