‘It’s all about Hibs’

-

GARRY Parker claimed Hibernian are the biggest threat to their own promotion hopes after they increased their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship on Saturday.

Neil Lennon’s side won 3-1 at Dunfermline as they secured their first victory in five league games to go three points clear.

The Pars led at the interval through Kallum Higginbotham’s penalty but Hibs levelled in the 55th minute when Nat Wedderburn deflected in a James Keatings strike.

Grant Holt converted a penalty 11 minutes later and fellow striker Brian Graham added a last-gasp clincher for the visitors as the Fifers’ Michael Moffat was shown a straight red card in stoppage time for a foul on Darren McGregor.

Hibs assistant manager Parker said: “Some team will get a good hiding soon but we are just happy.

“It is a hard place to go to. We won 3-1 so we have to keep going, keep trying to win and stay at the top.

“It is all about us. The only team I think can beat us is ourselves.

“At times we outplay teams, we need to finish teams off and score goals because we create enough chances and then just take it from there.

“That is our priority. We must get promoted, no matter what.”

Mark Stewart scored twice against former club Falkirk as Raith Rovers recorded a fine 4-2 away win against the Bairns, while at Somerset Park, a second-half strike by Paul Cairney gave Ayr United all three points against Queen of the South, who slip down to third.
