Discussion on future of housing
A DISCUSSION on the future of housing in Dundee is to take place at DCA later this month.
What Is the Future of Domestic Life? will bring together a selection of local residents, commentators and designers to discuss domestic living in Dundee both in the present and beyond.
The talk is inspired by Home Economics, a British Council exhibition on display in Venice which examines how homes could change in the future, depending on how people work, live and play.
Hosted in collaboration with t he Architecture Fringe and Creative Dundee, the discussion will bring together panelists including British Pavilion curator Shumi Bose, who organised the Home Economics exhibition, Dundee native and author Gerry Hassan, and filmmaker Sam Goncalves.
Dundee has been chosen as one of the sites on the tour in light of its massive redevelopment.
A British Council spokesman said: “In the context of this Unesco City of Design’s rising cultural quarter, site of the UK’s third largest redevelopment programme, and its homegrown i nnovators and design festival, it is timely to discuss what Dundee is like to live in now and in the future.”
The talk takes place on November 15, beginning at 6.30pm. Tickets are £4, including refreshments.
Reservations are recommended. To buy tickets, visit bit.ly/domesticlife.
