Take Pride in Your City by getting involved

A NUMBER of events have been planned for Take Pride i n Your City t his month.

Held around the city throughout November, the campaign bids to encourage people to play their part in keeping Dundee looking bonnie.

The first event of the month takes place at Backmuir Woods on Sunday.

Folk are invited to join the Woodland Trust to remove tree tubes which protected the saplings during their early growth.

Participan­ts will be getting picked up at the Seagate bus station from 9.30am.

On the same day, the Friends of Riverside Nature Park will be planting their Midsummer Night’s Dream project, from 1pm to 3pm.

There will also be a range of other gardening tasks, as well as litter picking.

On November 12, folks are invited along to Baxter Park for a spot of gardening, from 10am to noon.

Tools will be provided and there will be light refreshmen­ts.

There will also be a volunteer session to help clean up Dundee Law, from 1pm to 3pm.

Meeting at the Law Road car park, volunteers are invited to help tidy the vegetation surroundin­g the city’s highest point.

The focus shifts to Ninewells Community Garden on November 26.

Running from 10am to 3pm, the event offers the community a chance to get together, work on seasonal tasks and learn more about gardening in a therapeuti­c setting.

There will also be the opportunit­y to work with their mosaic group.

The event is led by Dundee City Council and is supported by the Tele.
