Dark Blues have guts — Hartley
DUNDEE manager Paul Hartley says the 1-0 win over Hamilton at the weekend shows that his Dark Blues team has “guts”and have the stomach for the fight ahead.
The Dee are aiming to push themselves off the bottom of the Premiership table this weekend when Motherwell visit Dens Park and the gaffer is looking for a similar level of fight and determination from his side.
“Saturday showed the t e a m h a d g u t s ,” s a i d Hartley.
“We had a bad first quarter but we’ve started the second quarter with a result and we’ve got to battle every week.
“We know we’re still down there and we don’t want to be there.”
Mark McGhee’s Motherwell come into the game after a convincing victory against fellowstrugglers Ross County.
However, it was their first win in four games.
The Dark Blues, however, haven’t won in the league at home all season, so grabbing the all-important three points would be the perfect tonic for Dundee fans.
The news t hat Kevin Gomis, Scott Bain and Nicky Low are all in contention for Saturday’s game will give Hartley a welcome selection problem.
A win will lift the Dens Parkers off the bottom of the league as Ross County don’t face Rangers until the following day.
It would also set them up nicely before the international break which comes into force for all the Premiership teams t he following weekend.
